Ersin Sahin
Ersin Sahin was born in Istanbul in 1984, the first generation of a Kosovo immigrant family to be born in Turkey after 500 years. He completed his undergraduate degree at Istanbul University's Faculty of Business Administration and earned an MSc in International Business from Coventry University in England. Since 2001, photography has played a pivotal role in his life.
In 2020, Ersin was accepted into the "Narrating with Photography" workshop, organized by the Genis Aci Project Office and moderated by Nar Photos founders Kerem Yücel and Serra Akcan. His primary interests lie in documentary, street, and portrait photography, and he continues to focus his work in these areas.
In January 2024, he opened his first solo exhibition, "Aphasia," featuring artist portraits taken during the pandemic, mostly in their homes or studios. At the same time, the book of the project was published.
Ongoing Projects:
- MEDET: A documentary photography project that delves into the superstitions and sacred offering sites within Anatolian culture.
- APHASIA: During the pandemic, this series of artist portraits captures their creative processes, with most images taken in their homes or studios.
